NRG Gran Canaria Camp April 4-13, 2025
We are happy to announce that we are heading to San Agustin, Gran Canaria, Spain for our 2025 NRG Europe camp, April 4 - 13, 2025
Gran Canaria is a great spot for a training camp, lots of great roads, and some long (30+km) climbs. The weather is perfect in April with an average high of 26C and lows of 17C. We will be staying at a 4 Star hotel on the beach with a pool, our NRG coaches and guides will be giving you feedback on the rides and van support on the road

The main focus of the camp is a riding, we will be on road bikes and be riding in groups and we will be putting in big days on the bike. For triathletes we will also have some running and open water swim options in the ocean (where the temperature is ~19C) but the camp will be geared more towards riding and building a good early season base. The training program will be laid out by the NRG coaching staff and will be adapted to the needs of the group. In order to ensure that everyone is able to ride at an appropriate pace the rides will be broken into 2-3 groups of similar speeds, you don't have to be super fast to come to this camp, but you do need to be ready to put in some longer days in the saddle. Each group will have a coach/guide with them.
The riding around Lagos is hilly and appropriate gearing is crucial, we recommend a minimum 34 x 34 small gear. The routes and terrain will be picked according to the abilities of the group. Road bikes are required for the camp, as there will not be an opportunity to ride in your aero bars. There will be rental opportunities as well please contact Nigel for details
Flights: Flights are not included -- You will fly into Gran Canaria for Friday April 4, we will aim to have 2 shuttles one at ~12pm for those arriving in the morning and another ~5pm for those arrving a in the afternoon. Its approximately a 20min drive to town from the airport
For departures we will have 2 shuttles available, one will be leaving at ~5am for those on early fights and another at ~9am for those leaving on later flights.
Outside of these times you will need to make your own way to and from the hotel or we can arrange a shuttle for you. :

NRG GRAN CANARIA TRAINING CAMP 2025
Day 1: Leave Toronto on the evening of Thursday, April 3 for an overnight flight to, Gran Canaria (arrive Friday April 4) Flights are not included
Day 2: On Friday, you will be picked up at the airport and taken to San Agustin (which is approx 20min from the airport). Set up bikes and make sure everything is working for Saturday.
Days 3-9: Eight full days of riding, with options for running and swimming as well. We will schedule some optional off/easy days so that you can have a chance to explore (while not riding your bike!) the region also.
Day 10: Transfer to GC airport on Sunday April 13 for your return flight
Our training camp is based in the town of San Agustin and the training camp includes:
• 9 days at a 4 Star Hotel steps from the beach
• All transfers to/from Gran Canaria airport within the allocated shuttle times noted above
• Breakfast and Dinner (lunch is not included but we are generally on the road at lunch time anyway) with a possible night out on the town (not included)
• Training program organized and led by the NRG Coaching Team
• Daily talks and Q&A by the NRG Coaching Team going over many different aspects of training and racing
• Rides broken into 2-3 groups of similar speeds with a coach or guide with each group
• Training schedules customized to the athletes needs and abilities
• Access to NRG coaches throughout the camp to ask any questions that you have
• Vehicle support for the rides and a camp photographer taking pictures along the way
• Custom camp swag

**note a double room cannot be guaranteed unless you bring a roommate with you, we will do our best to accommodate everyone but if a roommate cannot be found then you will need to pay for a single room
